Real estate in Allyn, Washington is some of the most sought after in the area due to its beautiful surroundings and its close proximity to Case Inlet of Puget Sound, where it sits on the western shore of the North Bay region. Located in Mason County, Allyn was settled in 1853 and officially named a town on September 6th of 1889. The town of Allyn was known for its use of a small flotilla of steamboats as its main form of transportation up until the mid 1920s. According to the 2010 census, the population for the Allyn-Grapeview area was 2,917.

Shopping and Dining

Anyone that owns Allyn real estate will find that there are plenty of places to shop and dine nearby. There are some fantastic locally owned restaurants throughout the Allyn area, many with gorgeous water views. Residents looking for a great meal should be sure to check out Lennard K’s Boat House, 2 Margaritas Family Restaurant, Big Bubba Burgers, and more. There are a handful of locally owned businesses to peruse as well, including the Blend Wine Shop, Allyn Knit Shop, and JK’s Treasure. Allyn is also home to George Kenny's Chainsaw Carving School where students can learn the art of carving in group or individual settings. Across the street lies North Bay Kayaks & Cones. Patrons can rent kayaks and paddle boards or have ice cream or a number of other offerings. Residents needing to accommodate additional guests or just looking for a romantic weekend on the waterfront should look no further than the Allyn House Inn, a cozy vacation home on Case Inlet. There are also plenty of other shops – both locally owned and national chains – not far outside of the Allyn area.

Parks and Recreation

Because Allyn real estate is located right by Case Inlet, there are plenty of activities in which to partake, including sailing and fishing. Outdoor lovers will want to take advantage of the many campsites located around the Allyn area as well in order to enjoy the beautiful Washington state surroundings. Anyone with an RV will want to visit the Allynview RV & Mobile Park, which is located just south of the Port of Allyn, right on the northwestern side of Case Inlet. Other parks worth checking out include the Belfair State Park and Twanoh State Park just to name a few. All of these locations are within a short drive from Allyn.

Lakeland Village

Some of the most desired real estate in Allyn area is Lakeland Village. Overlooking Case Inlet in South Puget Sound, Lakeland Village is a residential golf community. The community surrounds Anderson Lake, which is a 50-acre spring fed lake that provides residents with year-round trout fishing. The community also provides its residents with several amazing amenities that include a children’s playground, outdoor kitchens, and 3 community beaches that boast defined swimming areas. Residents of Lakeland Village will also be able to dine right out by Trout Lake at the Lakeside Bistro, which offers some of the best steaks, seafood, and pasta around town. It's no question that Lakeland Village is one of the premier spots in Allyn.

Living

For residents living on Allyn real estate, the largest employer in Mason County continues to be the government, where 5,480 residents have found employment according to data collected in 2012. Trade, transportation, and utilities come in second, providing residents with roughly 1,900 jobs. Around 1,410 jobs are provided for by the manufacturing industry. In January of 2010, unemployment rates stood at 13.2 percent. However, this figure decreased in November 2011 to 10 percent and is prospected to drop in the future as well. The average household income in the Allyn-Grapeview area was $46,224 the last time such data was collected. The per capita income was $22,305. Schools, Health and Transportation

Allyn real estate is located in the North Mason School District. The North Mason School District consists of Belfair elementary, Sand Hill elementary, Hawkins Middle School, North Mason High, and Pace Academy.

There is not a hospital located directly in Allyn, but there are a number right outside the town, including St. Anthony Hospital and the Harrison Medical Center. These are within a very short driving distance of Allyn real estate and will provide residents with a number of health services, including urgent care and emergency care needs.
